    Whenever you have a spur of the moment get together and don't have time to cook anything, what is the one thing you can buy that everyone will like? Pizza. Have you ever actually met anyone that doesn't like pizza? Sure, some people don't like anchovies or olives. Some people just want plain cheese. But, by and large, you are going to please the majority of people with a pizza.

  • Jambon Beurre

    This sandwich is so easy and delicious I could easily eat one for lunch or dinner everyday, if it wasn't swimming in carbs of course. The Jambon Beurre, as it's called in France, (I've also seen it called the Parisian on menus and the internet) is essentially just ham and butter on a baguette. I have also seen the sandwich before with cheese and cornichons so I went that route.

  • French Bread

    One of my most fond memories from childhood was walking to the grocery store with my mom. The bakery section was always one of the first stops. This made my day because that meant I got to reach down in the brown paper bag that housed a loaf of warm french bread and pull off a big hunk to eat while we finished the shopping. There is something about the smell, taste, and feel of freshly baked bread that rivals just about anything in the culinary world. I have had a lot of trouble baking a decent loaf of French bread.   • Vanilla Ice Cream Bread Pudding

    Bread seems to be one of those things I always have leftover. Whether it's homemade or store-bought, I just don't seem to be able to get through it all before it starts to lose some of its luster. And let's face it, life's too damn short to eat stale or staling bread. But, I HATE wasting food. So my day-old bread goes in the freezer for breadcrumbs, dressing, or bread pudding.
